Nick Jonas has been doing the rounds in the UK this week ahead of his debut on the Official Singles Chart on Sunday.
Nick Jonas has been a busy boy, making stops at all the major London TV shows and radio stations to promote “Jealous” which was released in the UK this week (inexplicably, months and months after its release globally.)
His first appearance at Radio 1’s Live Lounge has drawn the most attention though, with his impressive cover of up-and-coming electronica group Years & Years.
Jonas trades in the dance-floor roots of “King” for an acoustic rendition of the UK #1 hit with unexpectedly impressive results. The song holds up well with minimal backing and Jonas pulled the whole thing off with style. Nick may have been a child star, which typically opens up criticism related to lack of talent, but he’s more than proven his worth as a performer in recent months. He’s got a good voice and strong musical inclinations, plus who knew he could play the guitar?
If you haven’t heard the original “King” by Years & Years, do yourself a favor and listen to it below. It’s a spectacular blend of synth-pop and house music that’s taken Britain by storm and is making waves overseas, climbing up the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronica Songs chart.
Nick Jonas will also be performing on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man tonight, so let’s hope all this last minute promo will pull in a respectable debut on the charts this weekend - "Jealous" is set to land at #2.
