Miley Cyrus' lyric video for "Younger Now" is a cute mess, and it's pretty perfect.
The pop star unveiled the album title track Thursday night, and she's not taking her current self too seriously. She's just being Miley. Well, throwback Miley. In some scenes, Miley is rocking an Elvis-inspired, turquoise bedazzled bodysuit with her hair slicked back. In others, she's in a bejeweled leather jacket that looks like something ripped out of Sandy's closet (like that Grease reference?). The entire Diamond Martel-directed clip is sprinkled with old folks doin the damn thing. Major props!
The song itself is a slight departure from previously released tracks "Malibu" and "Inspired." This one's far more melodic and dreamy. "I'm not afraid of who I used to be / No one stays the same," Miley sings over a mid-tempo beat and guitars. "Change is a thang you can count on / I feel so much younger now." This could've landed on Dead Petz and made a lot of sense.
It's the cutest thing you'll see all week. Watch below:
