Miley Cyrus don't take nothing from nobody yeah yeah.
Miley is normal again. Now that she's a featured judge on the new season of NBC's The Voice, the Bangerz singer is putting the bizarre antics on hold. She comes across more poised than ever, which is why her latest revelation about Mariah Carey brings an extra sting to the punch, because it's cogent.
In the new issue of Elle magazine, Miley opens up about her relationship with Britney Spears (or lack thereof), never walking a red carpet again and... why she doesn't look up to the elusive chanteuse.
Miley explained a comment she made to a contestant about how not everyone can be Mariah Carey. She told Elle, “I’ve never really been a fan, because it’s so much about Mariah Carey. That’s part of her shtick; I can see through that.”

What makes her different is that with Mariah, it's “about what she’s wearing, and it’s about her. What I make isn’t about me. It’s about sharing my story; it’s about someone being connected to what I’m saying.”
Miley also isn't a fan of sad stories to coincide with a contestant's spot on the show. “It’s like, if you’re going to have someone win because of their story, go write a screenplay about your life,” she says. “On The Voice, I try to steer away everyone who comes in here with an idea of what ‘the voice’ means, which is that you’ve got to be the pitch-perfect singer.”
