Miley Cyrus And Gwen Stefani Swapping Spots On Next Season Of The Voice

Miley Cyrus is bowing out of Season 12 of The Voice, but she’ll return next fall.

Good. I need new music from Miley, and all of these side projects like inspiring young musicians to tap into their artistry on The Voice and the philanthropic work with her Happy Hippie Foundation are just, like, totally ruining that for me.

Gwen Stefani will fill in for Miley in the spring alongside Alicia Keys and Voice veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, Deadline confirms. Miley will rejoin in Season 13.

Necessary corporate jargon: “We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

Now if we can kick off Levine and Shelton for an all-female panel of judges… What’s up, Madonna?
