All aboard the MTrain!
Meghan Trainor made it very clear she's all about that bass with no plans to settle down. Her upcoming album isn't finished and won't drop until February or March of next year, but it's well underway. She's enlisted R. City for a song, and features Mama Trainor on another.
Speaking with MTV News, the Best New Artist Grammy nominee confessed that she's been working hard post-vocal surgery on the follow-up to her debut, Title. "It has a lot of big songs on it that I can't for the world to finally hear," the singer/songwriter told the outlet. "I haven't been working long on it, but I got some good stuff and I think we are going to wrap it up soon."
She adds, "I wanted to go big. I wanted to get all my influences in there and show everything from my caribbean side to my love for Bruno Mars and Aretha Franklin and even some Elvis vibes, anyone I grew up listening to," she explained. "I was trying to show the world what I love. I wanted to do something that's not on the radio, but kind of different."
Go big or go home sounds like a plan, and from the previews we've heard thus far, including “Just a Friend to You,” “Only Us Girls” and “Lead Me On,” Trainor isn't getting comfy.
