Meghan Trainor is forcing the pop star thing on us.
Trainor is on all four knees, performing cookie-cutter choreography in a triangle formation with her backup dancers and wearing a corset in her glammed-up music video for "No," the lead single off her upcoming album titled Thank You. In the Fatima Robinson-directed music video, Trainor is following the recipe for what she thinks a pop diva is meant to look like, and it's not translating for me. She's rebranding herself with "No," but I liked Meghatron 1.0 – blissfully unaware and embracing all of that bass. Instead, she gave us a manufactured ideal of what she believes a pop puppet looks like.
Her message is clear: "you need to let it go."
