Mariah Carey Schools Audience On LGBTQ Meaning At The GLAAD Awards


If Mariah Carey ever entered into a spelling bee, it'd look something like this.

Over the weekend, Carey was the recipient of the Ally Award at the GLAAD awards, which honors “a media figure who has consistently used their platform to support and advance LGBT equality and acceptance.”

During her acceptance speech, Carey poured over her friend and filmmaker, Lee Daniels, then admitted she was nervous about not including everyone in the LGBTQ community (you know, because of all the letters in the acronym), so she substituted lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and queer for legendary, gorgeous, beautiful, tantalizing and "even Q" for quality.

Only Mariah Carey.
