Mariah Carey might be enlisting The Weeknd for her new album, dahling.
Carey sat down with Extra's Mario Lopez and revealed she's currently working on a followup to 2014's Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse... and it could feature the smooth sounds from Abel Tesfaye.
“It’s not planned out, but I know he’s doing a lot right now," Carey said. "We had a really good conversation and we’ll see. I think he’s a really, really talented artist.”
She also mentions embarking on a Latin American tour, her upcoming stint on Empire and connecting with the fans. Watch:
Carey previously admitted she has a secret concept for the record, but that's all she'd say in fear someone would steal it (again).
“I’m taking a different approach with this record because I’m not holding myself to the studio like, ‘I’m making this album top to bottom.’ People don’t really do that anymore," Carey said. "Right now I’m writing and recording and collaborating, and then we’ll see what the best of the best is.”
Adding: “It’s a secret because then everybody steals the concept," she said. "I’m serious, it just happened to me like two months ago. I don’t want to go into it because then I’m gonna be shady.”
