Madonna's heartbroken because of an ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco.
She opened up to her fans during a teary-eyed speech in Mexico City on Jan. 6, admitting some days it's difficult for her to perform, but she carries on anyway.
"We all go through challenging times in our life, and that includes me," Madonna said. "I, too, go through challenging times in my life, and right now is one of them. Sometimes I think I can't do a show. I don't have the energy, I don't have the strength," she continued, wiping a tear from her face. "I come out here tonight and I can see your faces, and I look into your eyes and I see so much love and it gives me strength. So thank you. You are rebel hearts. I feel your hearts beating with mine."
Madonna doesn't specifically mention the heartache that's causing her pain is the custody disagreement, but we can read between the lines. Over the holidays, a U.S. judge ordered her 15-year-old son Rocco to return to New York for Christmas, but British courts disagreed. He never showed.
