Pop icon is still working on the set list.
Despite the lack of recent commercial success, Madonna is continuing to grind with her latest album and her next item on the agenda is her 63-date "Rebel Heart Tour," which kicks off in Montreal on September 9. In between all the pre-production preparation for the trek, Madge took a break to hop on the phone with The Oakland Press to spill a few details on what's going on in that head of hers.
"I’m still working my way through the set list," she confessed. "The name of the tour, Rebel Heart, starts the party and then I think, ‘What’s a strong beginning? What’s the statement I want to make?’ and then we go on a journey from there."
Madonna also told the outlet that her fans won't be disappointed with this show, revealing that she isn't getting very much sleep since her focus is all about the trek and being a good mother.
I have a very disciplined life. I don’t do a lot of socializing. My life revolves around my show and my children and trying to live a very healthy lifestyle. The only thing I’m lacking right now is sleep — as always."
As for the theme of the tour, it's going to be about romance, naturally. "Love. Living for love. Being a rebel heart. Living for love. They’re all kind of intertwined, you know, rising above, believing in your dreams, overcoming heartbreak, things like that," she explained. "You know, the simple things in life."
If you haven't noticed, Madonna is all about the Instagram ... even though she basically walks in Cher territory when it comes to exactly how she uses social media. In recent weeks, the pop icon has dropped some not so subtle hints regarding which songs she might perform on the tour. Among the tracks rumored to be on the upcoming trek include "Holy Water," "Unapologetic Bitch," "Like a Virgin," "Into the Groove," "Devil Pray," "La Isla Bonita" and "Justify My Love."
