Machine Gun Kelly's new song with Hailee Steinfeld will make you feel things.
Machine Gun Kelly's song with Camila Cabello on "Bad Things" is trickling down the charts (15–22), but the rapper has a new collaboration up his sleeve to keep interest bubbling. During an interview at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards last weekend, MGK not-so subtly revealed he has a song with Hailee Steinfeld dropping this week.
“It’s another feel song,” he said. “It makes you feel something. When you’re controlling someone’s emotions, it’s the best therapy ever.”
And here we are.
"I shout, I swear, I get angry, I get scared / I fall, I break, I mess up, I make mistakes," Steinfeld sings. "But if you can't take me at my worst / You don't deserve me at my best."
Kelly follows that up with a punchy verse. "Life is about making mistakes," he raps. "It's also about trying to be great / Do not let failure scare you away / I know you fed up, you fall, get up."
For Steinfeld's part, the 20-year-old is making a name for herself as a bonafide recording artist. She took her singing skills from the silver screen with a starring role in Pitch Perfect 2 to the Internet with 2015's self-loving bop, "Love Myself." The track hit the Top 30 on the Hot 100, and gave her the confidence to record a handful of new songs for an EP titled Haiz with help from producer Zedd, who crafted “Starving.” The blossoming pop star already started carving out her place in 2017 with a feature on UK producer Digital Farm Animals' new song titled “Digital Love” and now this collabo. Keep your eye on this one.
