M.I.A. has a special announcement for music pirates: "throw that shit on dj sites WORLDWIDE."
No one spits out fiery songs on a whim like M.I.A. can. Without hesitation, the "Borders" MC released a collaboration with Baauer, who's responsible for the viral hit song "Harlem Shake," called "Temple" featuring Korean rapper G-Dragon off his new album Aa. The track begins with a mesmerizing message inviting you into transcendence when it suddenly transforms into a ferocious, beat blitzing swarm of booming verses from M.I.A.
Baauer says he and M.I.A. created the song during a trip to London. "I sent her something via email, but nothing happened," Baauer told Rolling Stone. "The energy is different being in the same room. I showed her a bunch of tracks, and we worked it out."
“Ola-Foreign Friend” is the other offering from M.I.A., who, like her previous release for "Borders," raps about immigration and Mexican border patrols. On the song's SoundCloud page, she wrote "TO ALL MY FLYPIRATES and DJS - THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT !!!! LIVE FROM THE MEXICAN BORDER OLA !!!! MIA ON THE WAVES Miauk – Mia-ola. I love u brazil!" The rapper also Tweeted DJs and music pirates to spread the song before Disney sends in the hounds (the track samples a bit of Lion King).
