It's the Lorde's day.
Lorde's comeback was inevitable. The grunge-pop star was an overnight sensation when her debut single, "Royals," off 2013's Pure Heroine, remained atop the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks. Her brooding beats and intoxicating tone bombarded our earbuds and solidified a spot in mainstream music (and Taylor Swift's squad), but four long years have passed since. There's a void she needs to fill, and the time has finally come.
The New Zealand singer-songwriter began teasing her new song and music video for "Green Light" this week – offering several small cryptic previews on a website titled ImWaitingForIt.com. Fortunately, the wait is no more. The 20-year-old officially premiered the music video for "Green Light" on Thursday (March 2) – a euphoric emerald fantasy set to one of her most upbeat beats ever. Sonically, it's her most adventurous release yet and perfectly crafted to live a healthy life on the radio. There's no doubt about it, it will make you DANCE.
i am so proud of this song. it's very different, and kinda unexpected. it's complex and funny and sad and joyous and it'll make you DANCE

In the Grant Singer-directed music video, Lorde basks in red and green lights while walking around the busy streets of a metropolis. At times, she’s dancing alone on the side walk – other moments Lorde finds herself surrounded by a crowd of complete strangers. Either way, that green light... she wants it. Watch below:
