UPDATE: Little Mix need a man that can act like a man in their new in-your-face Glory Days release “You Gotta Not.”
You ain’t even workin’, boy get a job
And baby when you wanna start growin’ up
We can boom, boom, boom, baby, fall in love
It was all going so well.
Little Mix’s new album campaign has been brilliant so far: a #1 debut for the lead single, sell-out tour and a string of TV and radio promo. What could possibly go wrong? Enter Meghan Trainor.
The “Me Too” singer has penned a song for the girls’ upcoming album “Glory Days“, aptly-titled “You Gotta Not,” which sounds like it could be a bop if you ignore the lyrics.
The “Shout Out to My Ex” queens previewed the track on Twitter, singing “Then you wanna start growing up / So we can boom boom boom ’til we fall in love” over a punchy drum line.
Little Mix are always compared to Fifth Harmony but this song is more anti-Pussycat Dolls, with the chorus of “I need a man / A man who can act like a man” opposing Nicole Scherzinger’s logic back in the day.
