Christina Aguilera released her beautiful new country ballad titled "Shotgun" from the Nashville series.
Aguilera performed a bit of it at the American Country Music awards on Sunday with Rascal Flatts, but the studio rendition is untouchable. It's exactly what we needed to hear from the bubble gum pop pioneer. Joining her on the track is Singer-songwriter Buddy Miller - the two create a cohesive sound together that places the "Dirrty" singer in a new light. It reminds us why she's our generation's powerhouse singer.
"When did you know your heart was mine / You told the tale so many times / There's nothing bigger we've got to do with all these miles to get to where we're going to"

"Shotgun" follows "The Real Thing," another Nashville country tune Christina released in support of her role on the show.
"Jade St. John is a pop star, but her first love is in country and she really wants to make a country album," Aguilera told ABC News last week. "And as she’s passing by town with her tour, she really takes the opportunity to sort of experience Nashville and make some contacts for herself. But really she’s just a huge fan of country and she just wants to dive right in."
"Jade definitely makes me discover a new side to who I am and what more I have to offer, even as an artist, crossing into a little bit of experimenting with country," she added. "So, it's fun and it's music and, you know, it's all love."
Expect to hear the song on tomorrow's episode of Nashville titled 'The Storm Has Just Begun.'
