Lil Wayne's releasing his new album on Independence Day.
Lil Wayne can't escape his label troubles with Cash Money Records, so instead of wasting time sweatin' how he'll release his reportedly finished Tha Carter V record, Wayne is keeping it moving. He began work on his latest record titled The Free Weezy Album and plans on sharing it July 4. During his nightclub show in Anaheim, CA on Wednesday, Wayne confirmed the news:
For a minute, it appeared Wayne ditched Cash Money and joined Roc Nation, but reps confirmed Wayne instead signed as co-owner with the slow-motion train wreck streaming service also known as TIDAL. During the KMEL Summer Jam in Oakland last Saturday (June 13), Wayne told concert-goers he “just signed a deal with [his] mother-fucking idol Jay Z.” We imagine come fourth of July, Wayne's FWA will be a TIDAL exclusive, adding another misstep in Wayne's recent agitated career.
