Pharrell Williams is helping Liam Payne discover his solo sound.
Payne announced in July he signed a record deal with Capitol, and it's game on. He's been "hard at work" on his solo album, which will likely feature a collaboration with Williams, who's familiar with the ex boy-bander since the two paired up in the studio as far back as 2014. "Liam stopped by my studio," the "Happy" singer admitted at the time. "I think he's just genuinely curious about music. He adds: "we have that in common, he's always wanting to see what's new and what's next."
On Friday, Payne shared a snap of him and Williams: "Great few days with @pharrell pleasure working with you as always"
It'll be interesting to see how Payne's sound develops from OneDirection. Zayn successfully found a niche of his own with Mind Of Mine, but his gripping anxiety inhibits his craft. Niall Horan went left with a mellow acoustic vibe on "This Town" and Payne seems to be wandering into the realm of Hip-Hop.
