Lana Del Rey Is Using Witchcraft To Cast A Spell On Donald Trump

Lana Del Rey has a trick up her sleeve.

Lana has a dreamy new song about love appropriately titled "LOVE," but crossing the songstress could result in a hex. Apparently, the pop star is a practicing witch (a witch!) and is urging fans to band together on a series of dates where her fellow witches plan on casting a spell against President Donald Trump to "bind him" from causing harm to others.

“It’s meant to restrain him from harming civil liberties, immigrants, people with health insurance," said Baltimore magician Michael M. Hughes to the Asbury Park Press. "It’s not meant to harm him but to make it impossible for him to keep harming the country.”

I am not making this up.

Lana posted the cryptic Tweet Thursday night with the dates: Feb. 24, March 26, April 24, May 23. They coincide with every night of a waning crescent moon.

Here's an excerpt on How to Cast Spells Using the Magical Timing of Moon Phases:

The image of the Witch in the moonlight may be stereotypical, but it's apt. Witches are intimately connected to the moon, and this is not just by coincidence. The moon is considered one of the most powerful forces to affect magical energy. The way the ebb and flow of the moon can affect the tides, our menstrual cycles, our moods, etc., it can also affect our magic.

Not all Witches bother with magical timing-- everyone develops their own methods and techniques and it's always trial and error to find out what works best for you. But those of us who use lunar timing do so by choosing the moon phase most conducive to our working in order to lend it an extra lunar energy boost. This is akin to swimming with the tide rather than against it.

Lana also instructs fans to look up ~ingredients~ online and used a cake emoji for reference. I took the liberty to find said ingredients. They include (I'm not making this up):

  • Unflattering photo of Trump (small);
  • Tower tarot card (from any deck)
  • Tiny stub of an orange candle (cheap via Amazon)
  • Pin or small nail (to inscribe candle)
  • White candle (any size), representing the element of Fire
  • Small bowl of water, representing elemental Water
  • Small bowl of salt, representing elemental Earth
  • Feather (any), representing the element of Air
  • Matches or lighter
  • Ashtray or dish of sand

Self-proclaimed brujeria, Azealia Banks (a supposed friend of Lana's), went off on social media as she does. “Leave that motherfucker alone,” she wrote on her personal Twitter in regards to Lana screwing with Trump. “You witches are only going to make Trump stronger. *rolls eye* hashtag. White girl magic. No shade I will go toe to toe with these white witches because Hillary Clinton losing was a major loss for white feminism.”

This is all too much, but I am very very intrigued.
