Lana Del Rey’s dreamy “High By The Beach” tune found its way online.
The second single from Lana Del Rey’s upcoming Honeymoon album out in September landed on the internet ahead of schedule Saturday night (Aug. 7).
The song is classic Lana; a breathy, airy ode to romanticizing drug use. It’s a little more uptempo than the “Honeymoon” track she premiered in July, jacking up the bass while a synthy pulsating beep strums along.
“All I wanna do is get high by the beach / get high baby baby bye bye”
“It’s very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise,” Del Rey said back in January of her album “Honeymoon.” “I finished my last one [Ultraviolence] in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It’s growing into something I really like. I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good.”
So far, Del Rey’s shared two solid efforts off her forthcoming record, and judging by the sultry freedom of expression heard in both, there’s no stopping her. She’s also appearing on The Weeknd’s upcoming Beauty Behind The Madness album on a song titled “Prisoner.” But until then, listen to the eerie sounds of one of our generation’s musical greats.
