EARLIER:

Lady Gaga earns her fourth No. 1 album with Joanne.

Mother Monster made the rounds promoting her new album, and it paid off big time.

The Dive Bar Tour

She performed three intimate shows for a couple of thousand lucky fans at stops in Nashville, L.A. and NYC.

"I love this dive bar tour so much, because I get to go perform these songs and really look my fans in the eyes when I’m singing to them and really try to have a more natural human experience," Gaga said. "This record was about me trying to understand my father, and his grief. It's also a record about me trying to understand myself and wondering where I'm going next in life. Because truly, the thing that I'm searching for the most is to feel connected to humanity, to feel connected as a person. So Joanne is like, you know, Lady Gaga if you erase all the fame."

Saturday Night Live

Gaga swung by SNL to perform "A-Yo" with Mark Ronson and the No. 1 charting song on iTunes, "Million Reasons." The isolated vocals from the performance magically "leaked" onto the Internet, and of course they're flawlessly epic.

Interviews

Gaga also opened up about Joanne in a handful of interviews, including a 90-minute chat with Howard Stern, a brilliant stint on Carpool Karaoke and a sit-down with Zane Lowe where she batted down comparisons to Madonna.

The Chainsmokers also played a minor role in this.

The numbers

According to a final tally from Hits Daily Double, Gaga sold 199,000 albums (sales plus streaming), in-part thanks to her deal with Amazon who had the record up for sale for $3.99. The feat marks the second-highest debut of any female artist in 2016 behind Beyoncé's Lemonade. She is also the first artist of the decade to produce four No. 1 charting albums, following Born This Way, ARTPOP, and Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett.

Gaga's No. 1 hasn't been confirmed by Billboard yet, but the coast is clear; her biggest competition is 100,000 units away. Michael Bublé will open up at #2 with 95k for Nobody But Me and RCA’s Pentatonix have rounded out the Top 3 with 60k for their latest holiday release, A Pentatonix Christmas.

Congratulations, Gaga!
