New music, new year... new Kylie!
Kylie Minogue says her new music will drop in the new year.
Kylie Minogue had plans to drop a new album and tour in 2017, but we're approaching the new year and there's still no sign of the album. Hey, great things take time. The pop star has given us an update to her timeline. Expect new music in the new year!
"New music coming in 2018 for all the #Lovers," she wrote on Twitter.

The Australian singer has been quietly working on her forthcoming fourteenth(!!!) studio album for several years now and has been tight-lipped about it, but she gave us a couple of crumbs of info back in October.
If you assumed her new body of work would be a collection of angsty breakup songs following her split with ex-fiance, Joshua Sasse, think again.
“There’s a little bit of heartbreak, I would say. Mostly I try to reflect where I am," Kylie told The Sun at the time.
“Definitely, in the last year, there’s been some of that but we bounce back. Most of it is super positive and inspiring, as a note to self as much as anything else. I’m feeling great right now.”
She also opened up about the sometimes awkward recording process: “It was cathartic. It was good. In the studio it’s a slightly weird concept to be spending seven, eight, nine hours in a room with people sometimes you don’t know. If you’re working with good people it’s the perfect place to deal with stuff.”
And get this: the singer drew major inspiration from a trip to Nashville. “I went to Nashville for two weeks and that became the album," she said. "I did a lot of work on the album before that but Nashville had a profound effect on me.
She added: “The songs are very storytelling and story-based. It was so great to do things a little bit differently.”
The lead single is thought to be produced by Sigala (“Easy Love,” “Sweet Lovin’”). He opened up to The Sun about his participation, and the overarching thematic scheme of her project.
“It’s a 'Spinning' Around vibe. She wants people to be honest with her,” Sigala said of the ‘90s-sounding new tune. “I’m influenced a lot by the Nineties so it makes sense for me to work with her. It fitted really well.” Read more about that here.
Kylie teased back then that the first single is slated for January and is already planning out the performances.
“You’ve got me at a time where I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Thoughts are turning to the look. There will be shows next year for sure. I can’t wait to perform again.”
New year, new Kylie.
