Kylie Minogue is still on track to release a new album this year. New BMG president Alexi Cory-Smith confirms Minogue has signed with BMG and the pop star is hard at work on a "great, big, classic Kylie pop record."

UPDATE // DECEMBER 19, 2016:
Kylie Minogue is reportedly leaving her label at Parlophone and signing a new label deal with BMG UK following a "massive bidding war," The Sun reports.
"Kylie, who also split from JAY Z’s Roc Nation management last year, is in talks to sign a huge new record deal with BMG UK after Jamie, who is now A&R director there, persuaded her to join him instead of Universal following a massive bidding war," they write.
“Most people think of my songs as joyful," Minogue recently said, "but it doesn’t have to be just joy – it can be sparkling melancholy.”
The move is one of of several in the works to relaunch Minogue back to the top (where she belongs).
EARLIER // DECEMBER 12, 2016:
Kylie will extend the gift giving all the way through 2017.
The Australian pop star recently re-released 2015's Kylie Christmas album, which features a couple of new Christmas classics ("really, really good new additions," as she put it), but if you're ready for new tunes from Minogue, you're in luck.
Kylie has plans to drop her fourteenth studio album in 2017 and wants to take it on tour.
“In 2017, I’d like to make a new pop album and even think about touring again,” she said at the launch of her glasses line with Supersavers, GayTimes reports.
Here she is walking the runway at the event:

Earlier in the year, Minogue hinted at the new release, but couldn't dive into recording sessions fully due to her busy schedule.
"I have started work on new material, the way the year's panned out I won't have that much time to work on it but my brain's working overtime," she said. "I'm so keen to get what's in my brain out and turn it into what I hear in my head, make that a reality. So new music is really, consistently on my mind. I've opened the door and stepped into the room but I've yet to spend as much time there as I look."
