Mr. Spears is hoping to establish himself for something other than his low-slung jeans and much-publicized spending problem.
Britney Spears' hubby, aspiring rapper Kevin Federline, released his debut single, "PopoZão," through Yahoo! Music Unlimited at midnight on New Years Eve. Federline's website www.kevinfederline.com has since received 2 million hits from curious celeb-watchers who want to see if the former back-up dancer has what it takes to make it in the rap/dance business.
"I wanted to make the kind of record that I would listen to in my car and dance to in the clubs," Federline said in a statement. "I surrounded myself with producers and engineers that trusted my instincts, who were willing to work hard and take a chance with me, my ideas and my musical direction."
The Brazilian-inspired dance track is the first single of Federline's as-yet-untitled debut hip hop album, set for release in Spring 2006. Written and produced by Federline, the album is set to feature production from Disco D (50 Cent) and Notes.
