He just got engaged to one of the wealthiest and biggest stars on the planet, so it's a bit ironic that Britney Spears's fiancé, Kevin Federline, is being sued in small claims court for allegedly bouncing a check.
"CJ" has obtained the one-page lawsuit filed by Classic Chevrolet in Anaheim Hills, Calif., which claims Federline owes $1,600 -- pennies by Britney's standards -- for a down payment on a truck.
Sources tell us it was a blue stick-shift Chevy pick-up, and we're told he wanted to get the Chevy Monte Carlo, a more expensive vehicle, but the dealership turned him down. And because Kevin allegedly was delinquent with the payments, the truck has since been repossessed.
For the pop princess, the suit further highlights the seemingly odd pairing between her and the struggling dancer, who has a 2-year-old daughter and brand new baby with his ex, Shar Jackson.
The suit is even more fodder for those who say Britney is crazy if she doesn't make Kevin sign a pre-nup. Recent reports claim Britney isn't all that keen on the idea. Hollywood divorce lawyers, like Mirka Brown, say it's nuts. "Britney's earning potential and net worth is much more than her husband-to-be," she insisted. "For her to get married without a pre-nup is just financial madness."
Without a pre-nup, the 26-year-old, who apparently has no money of his own, could walk away with millions of dollars should the couple divorce, even if the marriage lasts only a couple of months.
But sources connected to the star say a pre-nup is likely. In the meantime, however, there's no word if Spears will bail Federline out of his legal mess with the Chevy dealership
