Kelly Clarkson's exploration into soul moves forward.
Clarkson hasn't looked back since she announced her partnership with Atlantic Records, admitting "they’re down to make whatever kind of record I’m into.” Particularly one with soul. “While we’ve always had soulful influences on my records, we’ve never actually made a soulful record. That is what Atlantic Records and I are about to do.”
Since then, the Piece By Piece singer has participated in several soundtracks, including “The Cry Inside” for The Secret Scripture and the stunning ballad for Hamilton titled "It's Quiet Uptown." She has one more up her sleeve: "Love Goes On" featuring soul singer Aloe Blacc, whom you may recognize from Avicii's "Wake Me Up," for the upcoming film The Shack.
The tune is a gorgeous mid-tempo ballad about the powerful force of love. "There ain't nothin' so broken / Love can't heal, I feel. Every day I grow older / Time reveals, reveals / That nothing's really gone / We bring the past along / And love goes on."
"Wake Me Up."
