Kelly Clarkson frantically explains what's going on. Sort of.
Clarkson announced last year she had to cancel the remainder of her Piece By Piece tour and endure a doctor-advised vocal rest. "So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates," she told fans at the time. "This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice! I can't wait to get healthy and see y'all back on the road soon. I hate canceling... and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show. Please know that I never cancel anything unless it's absolutely necessary."
The "Tightrope" singer is back in fighting form, and can't wait to officially return to the music scene. She got her feet wet Monday morning with a Facebook Live event, hyping a "big announcement" for Friday and revealed she'll perform one fan-requested song each day until then. Her first was a soaring rendition of Otis Redding’s 1967 hit “These Arms of Mine” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.
Instead of a "boring press release," Clarkson decided to go live. “I’m excited to sing again,” she said. “Months ago I sounded like crap... This is the coolest announcement for me as an artist.”
Clarkson was admittedly nervous for the video, so we're equally anxious to see what she has in store for us come Friday (June 24).
