Purple rain, purple rain.
Kelly Clarkson performed another flawless cover during her Piece by Piece tour, this time singing Prince’s iconic song “Purple Rain” at her show in St. Paul, MN Tuesday night. The American Idol alum told the audience before her rendition:
“I’m such a fan of other peoples’ music, and I get tired of singing my own so I let a fan at each show pick a song and we learn it that day – I mean, we all kind of knew this song we love to do because everyone knows it. It’s such a classic that I ask you to love me (laughs), and not judge me cause it’s such a great classic song from someone from here.”
And because we’re keeping tabs, the “Invincible” singer recently sang covers of Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love”, Nick Jonas’ “Jealous”, Rihanna & Mikky Ekko’s “Stay”, *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”, Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You”, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, Tove Lo’s “Habits” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.”
