Kaytranada brings the groove to Solange's table.
Just weeks after winning the 2016 Polaris Prize for his debut album "99.9%", Canadian producer Kaytranada has shared fire remixes of Solange's brilliant new single and Chance the Rapper's "All Night".
The 24-year-old first previewed his remix of Solange's beautiful "Cranes in the Sky" during a set at NYC's Terminal 5 last week and decided to release the full version online, saying "I couldn't help it and i can't deny how good it sounds."
In a note to SoundCloud, he said "This is just an edit to play on my dj sets, and i played it once and everybody wanted it right away. Honestly i was gonna wait to see if Solange or her team or whoever works for her wouldve ask me to do an offical remix so if they still want to, i could make it sound better than that version but ohhhhh, what the hell...."
The unofficial remix ups the tempo of the soulful original and adds an infectious groove to carry Solange's vocals, and it quickly got the singer's stamp of approval.
Whoa! Love to you brother. 🙏🏽 https://t.co/aVdPo117PW

"Cranes in the Sky" is taken from Solange's third LP, "A Seat at the Table", that debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 last week.
Kay also treated fans to his remix of Chance the Rapper's hit "All Night" just minutes later, which was first heard on the producer's mixtape "0.001%".
