What flawless timing.

The Recording Academy announced today they're updating their voting methods from paper ballots to online submissions. It's one of several measures they're taking to award artists who actually deserve to win based on the quality of their music, not popularity.

Katy Perry called it. She told the New York Times in an interview out today that all the awards she's ever won are fake. One quick glance at her Wikipedia Page, and you’ll know throughout her career, Perry has won five American Music Awards, 14 People's Choice Awards, a Brit Award and a Juno Award. FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE.

A copy + paste excerpt from her NYT story: “All the awards shows are fake,” she said, “and all the awards that I’ve won are fake,” she added, explaining that they don’t represent the audience. “They’re constructs.”

This is one of many steps Perry has taken in recent weeks to shed some light on Katheryn Hudson. She also dived into that in the same interview, clarifying the pop star persona is not a construct. “I didn’t kill her, because I love her, and she is exactly what I had to do then,” she said. “And I’m not a con artist, I didn’t con people, like, that was just me. And this is me now.”
