Katy Perry Has Reportedly Finalized A Deal To Be A Judge On American Idol Reboot

Something no one asked for.

Katy Perry's fourth era takes another turn for the weird as the pop star has reportedly negotiated a deal to become a judge on American Idol upon its return.

Rumor has it Perry will announce the American Idol news during her appearance on Ellen on Tuesday.

TMZ claims the reality TV singing competition went off the air last year because it became too expensive to produce. They add Ryan Seacrest will most likely host again, and he'll cost a pretty penny. As will Katy.

That's apparently where American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry comes in. He's also reportedly signed on to judge, according to Us Weekly.

The original plan was to have the entire panel consist of ex-contestants. Kelly Clarkson was on AI's wish list, but she inked a deal to be a judge on The Voice. Same for Jennifer Hudson. Awkward...

The pop star just announced the Witness Tour that kicks off in September and wraps in February. She'll have a busy 2017. See the dates here.
