Katy Perry Cries On Live Stream And Admits She’s Tired Of Being Katy Perry

Let's all be a lot nicer to Katy Perry.

The pop star just released her fourth studio album Witness on Friday. She also kicked off a 24-hour a day live stream that's shadowing her every move until Monday's not-so-surprise surprise concert.

It should be a non-stop weekend of celebrating, but the pop star broke down in tears and let fans in on a very intimate secret: Katy Perry doesn't want to be Katy Perry anymore.

“I guess I’m really strong as Katy Perry," she tells Viceland's Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh from The Therapist. "Some times I’m not as strong as Katheryn Hudson." Katheryn Hudson is her real name.

"People talk about my hair, right? And they don’t like it or they wish that it was longer. I so badly want to be Katheryn Hudson that I don’t even want to look like Katy Perry sometimes, and that is a little bit of why I cut my hair is because I really want to be…” Then the video cuts off.

It's rather heartbreaking to watch, but major props to Katy/Katheryn for shedding light on something she's probably been hiding from us for a while now.
