Kanye West fans urge the rapper to run for President in 2020.
Now that Donald Trump is the President-elect of the United States, all bets are off. Who's to say Kanye West can't follow through with his claim he made at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards when he said: “I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Mr. West hasn't commented on the recent political upset in America - his last Tweet is a birthday message for Kim Kardashian - but he told BBC Radio 1 in August that he was concerned about racial inequality, police brutality and other social issues and wanted to "make a difference."
"When I talk about the idea of being president, I'm not saying I have any political views," he said. "I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth."
Fortunately for Yeezy, one does not need any political experience to take office.
“We are numb, we're numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year, we're numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July,” he continued. "If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I'm alive I'm going to try to do it.”
West donated a considerable sum to Clinton's campaign last year.
“When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone,” he previously told Vanity Fair. “I would be like ‘I want to work with you.’I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.”
Kanye's fans urge him to dethrone Trump in 2020. See a roundup of messages below:
