Justin Timberlake might be adding an Oscar to his trophy case.
The votes are in and this year's Academy Award nominees have been announced, including 342 nods for the Damien Chazelle directed musical 'La La Land'. Justin Timberlake and Sting number among those who'll be hoping to take home the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Although the past few years have seen the category dominated by pop acts who've lent a track to an established movie, 'La La Land' and Lin Manuel Miranda's 'Moana' landed three of the five slots, representing a shift towards the Academy recognizing more traditionally movie musical efforts. Nonetheless, Timerlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling" from 'Trolls', and J. Ralph and Sting's "The Empty Chair" from 'Jim: The James Foley Story' also get a look in.

Realistically, it feels like Justin doesn't have much chance of walking home with the trophy. Aside from the fact that "Can't Stop The Feeling" simply isn't very good, 'La La Land' (as mentioned above) is nominated for a stunning 43,845 awards, and a double nomination in Best Original Song likely makes the picture a dead cert for the category. Nonetheless, JT will likely attend the awards and perform "Can't Stop", so if that's a thing that you enjoy then. Great.
