Justin Timberlake calls into Ryan Seacrest's radio show to chat about his "joyous" occasion creating the Trolls soundtrack.
JT released his commercial friendly new bop "Can't Stop The Feeling" on Thursday, and it has exploded onto every family-friendly channel there is. Timberlake tells Seacrest how he came to be the executive producer for the film's soundtrack, and when superstar producer Max Martin became involved.
"I sorted of serendipitously -- I was in touch with my old buddy Max Martin about just getting in the studio and just getting creative in general, and then this project came up," Timberlake said. "We just kind of dove in on this and we just had so much fun."
Timberlake adds they wrote songs for Ariana Grande and Gwen Stefani, both of whom "crushed" it, and will also be featured on the soundtrack alongside tracks from Icona Pop and Little Big Town.
JT also mentions his next studio record is in its infancy stage.
"We started working on the soundtrack and I just felt really inspired and it kind of worked its way in me to working on another record," he teased. "[The album is] in such an infant stage right now, so I don't have any plans [to release it yet]."
That is expected to drop in quarter 4 this year.
