Justin Bieber's new promotional artwork for "What Do You Mean" is slick.
Last week, Bieber made a surprise appearance on Ryan Seacrest's KISS FM show to reveal his new single titled "What Do You Mean" and drops Aug. 28, and today the accompanying cover art lands online. Bieber is taking a more mature approach to his next studio record and scrapped a lot of previously recorded material because he's in a better head space. WDYM is another Skrillex-produced tune, who helped catapult the Biebs back into the spotlight for his music rather than reckless incidents.
“Well, girls are often just flip-floppy,” Justin said of the song's meaning. “They say something and they mean something else. So … what do you mean? I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking.”
Aside from the preview below, we won’t hear the song for an entire month, but Bieber describes the track as “fun” and “summery.” “Definitely the first single is amazing. I worked really hard on it with a guy named Poo Bear.” He adds, “It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool,” he revealed. “The sounds are super expensive. Skrillex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound. So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I’m doing has been super cool because it’s new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I’m very excited.”
