JoJo Launches Imprint Label ‘Clover Music’

JoJo remains unapologetic.

When JoJo was 13-years-old, she signed a deal with Blackground Records that would impact her career for over a decade, forcing the talented crooner to put forth only a handful of records since she began in 2002. After a series of missteps – which blocked her from releasing anything for years – JoJo filed a lawsuit against the label for "irreparable damages to her professional career." She finally rid herself from them and signed a deal with Interscope where she released her incredibly great LP, 2016's Mad Love.

The pop star is taking one more step towards musical independence; JoJo announced her new imprint label under Interscope, Clover Music.

"I am SO SO SO excited to announce my new imprint and joint venture, CLOVER MUSIC with Interscope Records!!!," she wrote on Instagram. "I'm reunited with @bayschuck, my original A&R at Atlantic, who was instrumental in signing me there... One of the hardest things I've had to do in my career was leave the Atlantic family. It was a decision I seriously struggled with, but felt I owed it to myself to fulfill one of my ultimate goals, which was ownership."

She adds: "At 13 years old, I was a brand new naive fetus of an artist trying to make a name for myself. At 18, after being blessed with two successful albums, I found myself having to fight for freedom and the opportunity to release music. It took six long tumultuous years but we did it. Thank YOU for sticking by me through thick and thin and showing me MAD LOVE!! 😘🤗❤️ Thank you @Interscope and Aaron for trusting this little Mass girl with big dreams. Now let's make something great."

This is extremely exciting. JoJo has one of the best voices in the game, and giving her the space to create without worrying about her creative freedom is key. Now it's time for that Mad Love followup!
