UPDATE // NOVEMBER 11:
Chrissy Teigan and baby Luna star in John Legend’s new music video “Love Me Now” off his forthcoming album Darkness & Light out Dec. 2. It also features all kinds of couples in love; gay, straight, young, old and everything in between.
At the end, a message reads:
“Live now. Give now. Love now.”
It’s the sweetest thing you’ll see all day, and after a sour week, it’s just what the Legend ordered.

You can always count on John Legend to help you through the intricacies of your love life — for better or for worse. Thankfully, it seems as if the R&B crooner’s comeback single, “Love Me Now,” will more or less deal with the former.
On Monday (October 3), Legend took to social media to announce that the new cut will debut on Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. ET via Facebook Live, a day before its official release. “Love Me Now” is the first taste of the singer’s follow-up to 2013’s Love in the Future.

In the brief snippet, Legend sounds vulnerable and straight-up defiant, but that’s just how some folks approach love. Atop some sultry production, the R&B staple sings about embracing what he has before his eyes and that’s something worth applauding.
“I don’t know who’s gonna kiss you when I’m gone,” he sings during the teaser’s opening line. “So I’m gonna love you now like it’s all I have / I know it’ll kill me when it’s over / I don’t want to think about it / I want you to love me now.”
In a move that is likely to garner just as much buzz as the teaser itself, the cover art for “Love Me Now” surfaced and it features John and wifey Chrissy Teigan face-to-face with a black and white overlay. Nice PR, Team Legend. Expect to hear the cut when John performs it on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” next Thursday.
