Waiting for 2017.
We're a few weeks out from the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show with Coldplay and Beyonce (and Rihanna?), but there's rumors regarding who will headline 2017's halftime show already making the rounds.
It's Jennifer Lopez.
Rumor has it she's hoping her Vegas residency All I Have, which officially opens tonight, will pick up enough steam in the next year to lock her down for the coveted slot.
“Jennifer is excited for her Vegas residency to start as she sees it as a major milestone in her career, but she also is using it as a place to show the NFL that she should be the Super Bowl halftime performer next year,” an alleged source close to Lopez tells HollywoodLife. “Vegas will be her highlight reel! She really wants to do the Super Bowl and she wants to be the first person the NFL asks for Super Bowl 51 and her Vegas show will prove that 100%.”
Could we see JLo killing it at the Super Bowl? Absolutely. Does she command the interest to perform at the most-watched televised event of the year? That remains to be seen, however the NFL, according to the source, are open to it.
“The NFL would definitely be interested and would be happy to take on those discussions but not anytime soon,” they continue. “They have plenty of time to figure that all out and when plans start materializing for next year then they will cross that path.”
