Janet Jackson was noticeably absent in the montage played during Coldplay, Beyonce & Bruno Mars’ performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Past Super Bowl performances were remembered during one of Coldplay’s songs, showing clips of Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney and Prince. One missing person? Janet Jackson (and subsequently Justin Timberlake). The NFL is apparently still bitter over the ~wardrobe malfunction~ that exposed Janet’s bare breast, and are attempting to erase her from their history.
Naturally, the Internet had a few opinions about that… including Latoya Jackson.

The super bowl halftime show throwback should have included Janet Jackson's nipple. The most influential nipple of our time.

They didn't show JT and Janet in that Super Bowl montage. Those who deny history are doomed to repeat it…and that would be awesome.

No nip slip replay in the halftime show montage? #SuperBowl

Um, I'm guessing we aren't going to see the Timberlake/Jackson nipple incident in this montage. Pity. #SuperBowl

Hey where are Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson in this montage? How rude! #SuperBowl

Now that the NFL has hosted a Black Lives Matter/LGBT pride halftime show, can America repent for how we treated Janet Jackson 13 years ago?

Another snub worth mentioning? Left Shark.
