Iggy Azalea Thinks Beyonce’s Becky Line Is Racist

Iggy Azalea is taking issue with Beyonce’s line “he better call Becky with the good hair.”

Beyoncé is causing quite the controversy with the lyric which premiered during the hour-long visual album event on Saturday. First the BeyHive went in on designer Rachel Roy, who they believed could be the mistress whom Jay Z cheated on Beyonce with. She since issued a statement denying so, which put Rita Ora in the crosshairs next. She, too, came forward to refute the allegations she wronged Beyonce, and now Iggy Azalea wants in on the Becky drama.

It is believed ‘Becky with the good hair’ makes reference to a typical “white girl” with straight hair. ‘Becky’ is also slang for oral sex, which promotes the stereotype white women are more willing to perform it. Naturally, Iggy, America’s lightning rod for racial stereotyping, wants to drop her two cents.

“dont ever call me a becky,” Azalea said.

The Australian rapper defends her lyric in FKi’s 2012 song “I Think She Ready” where she uses the name Becky in reference to a white girl: “if you tell me you want Becky… give me Brian.”

But before the hive goes in on Iggy, just know it’s all good. “And by the way,” Iggy said, “this is not bey shade. i love her and the album. but my name is iggy, and you will all call me that.”
