Hilary Duff says she's sick of being told what to do in new leaked song snippet.
In the the unnamed track, which should appear on a new episode of Duff's show "Younger" next month, the "Chasing The Sun" singer embraces her inner Lindsay Lohan and coos about the thrill of partying - a persona the mother of one enjoys only in song.
"I do not wanna behave
Do not wanna wait for Saturday
Young and drunk and free
Hey mister mister, dance with me
Cause I'm sick of doing what they tell me
Sick and tired of trying to please
I'm escaping, breaking free
With a pocket full of cash"

The sound is another reassuring pop triumph for Hilary. Her latest Bloodyshy-produced anthem for "Sparks" proved a hit amongst her fans, but is that the tone for her upcoming record? Quite possibly. Last year, Duff released "Chasing The Sun" and "All About Me," mellow acoustic mid-tempos about feeling like, totally awesome. With "Sparks" and her latest untitled release, it seems as if she's tired of the good-girl thing (in music, anyhow) and wants to evolve into music more suitable for her fanbase. Because let's face it, those of us tuning in to hear new music from Lizzie McGuire are 20-somethings who know who Lizzie McGuire actually is.
“The album is a range of stuff," Hilary told MTV News
last week about her new music. "I would say definitely in the beginning when I started writing, it was pretty heavy, coming out of my past year of — life. It’s changed since then, which is good because I think that the overall theme too — me, personally, I’m not this super heavy girl. You know? I’m one for the sunshine, so it’s shifted a lot and it feels a lot better to me.”
“There’s a lot of dance — but it is heartfelt,” Hilary said. “A lot of the songs are about love, a lot of them around about loss, one of them is about Luca. It’s just more easy. It’s not super heavy material. I’m excited for people to hear it. I’m excited about the place we got it to.”
