Some of the world's most influential musicians discuss their passions in a Songwriter Roundtable.
The Hollywood Reporter joined the unlikely forces of Justin Timberlake, Sting, Alicia Keys, Tori Amos, John Legend and Pharrell Williams for their first-ever Songwriter Roundtable. As StereoGum points out, each big name has a song attached to a movie – Justin Timberlake (Trolls), Tori Amos (Audre & Daisy), Sting (Jim: The James Foley Story), Pharrell (Hidden Figures), Alicia Keys (Queen Of Katwe) and John Legend (La La Land), so they rounded them up a day prior to the Election to stimulate the conversation, which of course turned towards the unsettling political environment (though no one could have predicted what was to come). They detail their various roles associated with the film, musically "blacking out" and the importance of music in movies.
