Pia Mia has over 150 songs to choose from for her debut studio album.
The 19-year-old singer from Guam is exploring a couple of firsts: she was recently named the first fashion director of Madonna's Material Girl clothing line while simultaneously working on her first record (the official followup to her 2014 EP The Gift).
In a new interview with Paper Mag, Pia opens up about her new music, saying she has a ton of material to choose from, a lot of which draws from her recent post-relationship experiences. She doesn't mention her ex by name, but the site reports about her past with producer Nic Nac. Interestingly, he helped the teen-singer craft a lot of the new tunes, so it'll be interesting to see what she chooses to release when the time comes.
The fashion forward youngster also gives a shout-out to Madonna, who she calls "a music icon."
"I think that's why this is working so well, because fashion and music go hand-in-hand for me also," she says of her collaboration. "I feel like I'm not good at talking, but I am good at showing my emotions and expressing how I feel in my clothes or in my music."
