The battle between Roc Nation and Rita Ora continues.
Following yesterday's reports that Rita Ora was seeking legal emancipation from Roc Nation and Jay Z, new evidence has surfaced that suggests she may have got exactly what she asked for.
The "Body On Me" singer no longer appears on Roc Nation's website, social media or artist roster - it appears that the label and management company have severed all superficial ties with Ora. Whether that's simply a spite response to yesterday's court papers or whether they've decided to allow Rita to walk away from her contract remains to be seen, but either scenario could be problematic for the X Factor judge.
Despite now having recorded her second album twice following split from executive producer and boyfriend Calvin Harris, she could easily walk away with none of the material. Typically, a label owns the music an artist records, not said artist, and if Jay and co. decide to end this with bitterness, Ora could be left facing the prospect of starting from scratch, again.
Legal representation for Rita claimed that they were seeking an end to the contract following a lack of attention from Roc Nation following Jay's interests in other projects, like sports management and TIDAL.
