"I see both sides like Chanel."
On Friday, rumors ran rampant Frank Ocean was readying new music, but no one knew what the elusive singer had in store. Ocean waited four years to drop new tunes last year, and when he did it was a downpour. Ocean dropped a visual album titled Endless, then quickly followed up with Blonde. The latter debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, received rave reviews throughout the blogosphere and a major Grammy snub. Right, Justin Timberlake? In other words, he's capable of anything.
As Katy Perry recently said, music consumers want music in bite-size (do we though?) – and Frank is following that formula. He recently released a collaboration with Calvin Harris and Migos titled "Slide." He follows that up with a new track he premiered on blonded RADIO titled "Chanel" along with a remix of it featuring A$AP Rocky.
"I see both sides like Chanel," Ocean sings on the hook over a dripping piano melody and hollowed out background vocals. "2016 burnt like some discs / 2017 playing off a Walkman / This a cult, not a clique on the net."
He also boasts about his new life. "I got new money / And it's all cash / I got new bags / And they all collabs / I rubber band thousand dollar Delta gift cards."
