"I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it."
She also thanked fans for their support which resulted in the top trending topic #WeAreProudOfYouLauren:
Lauren Jauregui confirms bisexuality after years of speculation.Ever since Fifth Harmony rose to fame on The X Factor in 2012, fans worldwide have speculated whether two members in particular - Lauren Jaregui and Camilla Cabello - were perhaps not straight, and were possibly even secretly dating. While nothing has been confirmed or denied about a relationship, or Cabello's sexuality, today Lauren Jauregui penned a passionately political letter through Billboard, addressed to Donald Trump, and addressing her sexuality once and for all:
"I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it. I am proud to be part of a community that only projects love and education and the support of one another. I am proud to be the granddaughter and daughter of immigrants who were brave enough to leave their homes and come to a whole new world with a different language and culture and immerse themselves fearlessly to start a better life for themselves and their families."Jauregui also blasted Trump voters who feel offended by the volatile reaction they've received since the election:
"Restoring the America-that-was is only stagnating the progression of our consciousness. You voted for a person who built an 18-month campaign off the back of your hatred. He manipulated ALL of you with such ease by speaking to the darker parts of you that had started to feel ashamed about the way you viewed the "politically correct" world. He became your champion, because he spoke to the parts of you that think you are superior to the rest of us (just like Hitler did in Germany before the Holocaust! Just read his autobiography: Mein Kampf)"The Work From Home singer ended her letter on a powerful note:
"We are not America indivisible any longer, we are united on two separate sides; Love and Hatred. We are not "whining" about our presidential choice losing, we are screaming battle cries against those whose political and personal agendas threaten our lives and sanity. We are making sure you hear us, no matter how much it bothers you, we EXIST."Read the full text HERE. This isn't the first time Jauregui has expressed her political views publicly. At a recent Fifth Harmony concert, she danced happily with a pride flag. The 20 year old frequently shares her concerns on the current social climate with her millions of fans via social media. Last year, Lauren made her anti-Trump views clear when she supported actress America Ferrera after she too penned a letter to the future President. Last week, a photograph of Jauregui kissing another woman at a party was widely circulated online. Jauregui clarified on Twitter not long ago that she wrote the letter after the photo was spread around, but not directly because of it:
