maybe because his team didnt pick the same week as Barbra Streisand to release the album

Don't even bring that up

The Glory case and the Blackout (last minute change) case frustrate me so much :crying11: We could have had 7 consecutive #1 albums and 8 as a total if it wasn't for BJ

Everybody is rooting for Justin, he's a male artist it is easier for them.

Look at Justin bieber, his previous album flopped (journal or whatever it was) hardcore and he's doing great now.

But they all put work in their career after this reminder of rapid fade of success.

Something Britney hasn't since the end of femme fatale.

She promoted too for glory but still couldn't hit number one. Your point is?

You can get a n1 with less than 50.000 copies sold like Sia did in 2014 (when sales were higher). Camila got a n1 with 120.000 sells only. It's all about timing. Nothing else matters

Justin Timberlake is riding a digital wave.

Sure, the Internet collectively decided Man Of The Woods is not the tea, but that hasn't stopped JT's music from performing exceptionally well.

Woods is on track to debut with just under 300K in sales and top the Billboard 200 chart.

It gets better. A new report from Nielsen says JT's downloads spiked 534% following his Halftime Show at the Super Bowl last Sunday. The most-streamed track is not from his latest release, however. It's actually his 2013 hit "Mirrors" off The 20/20 Experience. The song racked up more than 322,300 audio streams on Monday alone – a 177% increase from the day prior.

"Can't Stop the Feeling," "Cry Me A River," "Sexyback," "My Love," and "Filthy" also saw a surge in streams. Look familiar? JT performed all of those at Halftime.

When Woods hits No. 1 later this week, it'll mark JT's fourth consecutive No. 1 album and the biggest sales week since Taylor Swift's Reputation (though it won't hold a candle to her sales).

In other words, JT might be the new Katy Perry, but people are still tuning in.

Sales figures have lowered twice on this album already.

Reportedly this is one of the first times a Superbowl performance didn't spike sales, he got backlash and the sales figures were already lowered twice.

Sales Malfunction! Justin Timberlake Album Numbers Revised Down (Again) After Panned Super Bowl Performance

Historically the Super Bowl, with its 100 million+ viewers, is considered one of the most powerful promotional platforms in the world.

However, in an unprecedented development, it’s actually having an adverse affect on the album sales of this year’s Halftime headliner Justin Timberlake.

As reported, initial estimates for the ‘Man of The Woods’ LP (which were already lower than anyone would have imagined pre-release) were revised down to 300,000. Yet, they’ve now dropped– again.

Details below…

According to Hits Daily Double, post Super Bowl, the project is now looking at a debut in the following sales region:

250,000-275,000
[Sales Plus Streaming]
**********
210,000-225,000
[Pure Sales]

Ouch!

This is dismal on several fronts.

First, not in recent memory has any Halftime headliner actually been impacted negatively by such mass exposure.

What’s more, when placed in context of Justin’s past performance (see: 900k opening for ’20/20 Experience) and initial industry forecasts for ‘Woods’ (700k), there’s no escaping it – this is a disaster.

He “may” be able to salvage and save face with the growing success of ‘Say Something (ft. Chris Stapleton)’ and the strong ticket sales for his tour. But, there is a very palpable problem here: namely the disconnect between JT and the general public.

Any guesses as to why? Let us know…
