Mariah Carey’s Vocals Soar On Instant Christmas Classic “The Star”: Listen

Recommended Posts

Follow the light.

It's OFFICIALLY the holiday season.

Mariah Carey has some serious competition from her pop peers this holiday season. Gwen Stefani already dropped her holiday album and Sia has one on the way, but they're no match for Miss Mariah. The Christmas chanteuse has a new Xmas song out. It's titled "The Star" and serves as the lead soundtrack song from the original animated film also named The Star.

It's a power ballad about Jesus Christ. Who can compete with that? “One dark night something said follow the light / So you look up and see the word that’s written upon the sky," Carey sings. "Strong and wise / Keeping the lord as your guide / And through the doubt you realize he’s with you all the while / Follow that star above you should the world try to break you down / There is one that waits for you / Though you can’t see him now.”

"The Star" is magical, mystical, Mariah. The track is available to stream beginning at midnight:

Literally got goosebumps listening to this and then at the end when there were TWO key changes....

That was just magic.

Her voice still sounds great and this was something special. I really hope around the holidays this becomes a popular song because bc it’s just so great in my opinion!
