Run For Cover: Director Joseph Kahn Says Beyonce Copied Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” Video

Recommended Posts

Another day another drama drama.

Director Joseph Kahn has enraged the BeyHive with by claiming Beyonce's "Formation" music video copies Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" visual.

I thought it'd be Trump or Kim Jong-un who'd kickoff World War III, but it appears that title belongs to Joseph Kahn. The world-renowned director, *WHO IS KNOWN TO TROLL THE INTERNET FOR REACTION*, set his sights on Beyonce's impassioned fanbase.

Kahn started sipping the lemonade when he asked why everyone is "afraid of the Beehive?" "What can they do? Pop out of your twitter screen and force you to wear Gucci?"

Dissatisfied at moderate outrage, Kahn threw a 1-2 punch. In an interview with the LA Times about his new film Bodied, which they describe as a "fish-out-of-water comedy that also serves as a searing examination of race, appropriation and freedom of speech in today’s America," Kahn takes things a step further. Likely agitated by the BeyHive's stance that "Look What You Made Me Do" drew inspiration from Beyonce's "Formation" video, Kahn refutes that as well as any comparisons to "Bad Blood."

“It’s not ‘Formation’ at all," Kahn said. "They try to say she’s wearing a black crop top and Beyoncé wore a black crop top. But they don’t realize in 2015 in ‘Bad Blood,’ Taylor Swift was wearing a black crop top."

Clearly, he's joking, but then drops this gem: "I really do think, by the way, that Beyoncé copied ‘Bad Blood.’”

That sounds authentic, but who knows. There's no telling whether Kahn is actually being serious, or it's just another explosive soundbite that he knows will make the Internet rounds (or both). I actually had the privilege to interview him in 2015 where we talked about all things Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and his evolution in the filmmaking industry. You can read that interview here. He was very candid and didn't think before he spoke. It was extremely refreshing and appreciated, but as we can see it gets him into trouble. I personally do not see a likeness between "Look" and "Formation" and "Bad Blood," but how else will we distract ourselves from 2017's impending doom than a catty feud?

For the record, it's Taylor's dance sequence that sparked all this drama to begin with.

You mean his own stolen visual from Toxic? :surething: How is Formation stolen from Bad Blood? I mean, get mad at Bey for not giving credit to the directors and artists she took some of that footage from, because that was a legit complaint, but this is such a stupid claim. He's clearly just trying to start sh!t to start sh!t. He's been up his own ass... for a while, but it's gotten worse since the LWYMMD lyric video dropped. Joseph, do us all a favor and crawl on out of there, please.

But-- does this mean the Hive and the Swifties will go to war and take each other out? :mjpopcorn:

I went through his Twitter feed, the guy is a total troll. At first, I thought he was being funny but then you realize that he's plain weird.

I went through it like two weeks ago, and I agree entirely. He trolls, and he's got one very inflated ego. It doesn't look good on him. :gross:

He's an artist, he's naturally an eccentric guy. Kahn has mad talent, full of creativity something you dont understand so leave us talented weirdos alone

I think Khan's joke was implied somewhere after him saying that Taylor wasn't copying Beyonce just cause she wore a black crop top since Bad Blood had her wearing one as well. The joke is that since Formation came out AFTER Bad Blood, then Beyonce must have been copying her. It's hard to be funny and sarcastic via text. We're talking about a fucking black crop top? Lame. I hate talking about comparing or copying but whatever. Btw, Brit has been rocking black crop tops forever. Soooo ... case dismissed? :outwithit:Image result for britney spears black crop topImage result for britney spears black crop topRelated image

I so want that to happen :yesplease:

Shities will tear them apart, of that I'm sure :janet:

Those kids have nothing to do besides smelling Taylor's farts and proclaim she's the best artist of all time, just like Beyoncé's fans do. Except they are no kids but behave like it :umwtf:
