A bit but her first two eras (before Kanye) were huge and her next era (Speak Now, post-Kanye) wasn't as big (still big). It was her transition to pop that made her career explode into another level.

Speak Now was her first album with more than 1 millions sales, how is that not big? The singles wasn't huge but pretty good for a not pop girl. Anyways the album sold great and when Red came out we thought "here lands her best selling album" and when 1989 came out we thought "it's impossible that can reach Red numbres" but it did. And Kanye was never in the picture, Taylor Swift is not famous or sucesful because of Kanye. That's delusion and we can hate her all we want but the girl made it here by herself, by know how use what people gave her, by be talented enough to recreate things that happen to her

At no point was Red taylor's best selling album. it was Fearless until 1989 passed it not long ago.

The whole vibe, the sound. you can't call Freakshow or Get Naked or any other Blackout song happy songs. even the name of the album

I really don't think it's that dark, it's mostly about partying and sex and several of the tracks are happy like Heaven On Earth and Ooh Ooh Baby......it's not a sad album....it's pretty much a party album tbh the two songs you mentioned are about partying and sex! The only dark moments on Blackout are POM and WSIBS tbh! Also the explanation of the title from Jive was Britney Blacking out the negativity in her life lol.........I think ya'll just think it's dark because of when it came out and because it has an Urban edge....because it's not really dark........Rated R now that's a truly dark album.....Rihanna touches on several actually dark subjects on that album...like her abusive relationship and what not....she's not talking about dancing on tables and having sex on the majority of the songs!
